Margo Dydek had a heart attack.. not even 40 years old
She is in a coma right now

And she's pregnant too...

Very sad.

I hope both recover soon.

if you think she went from basketball seasons in europe straight into basketball seasons in USA and back to Europe for years
racing, racing.. after a (what many say) wild youth.. and than 3 kids in no time and a life as coach with a body that is taller than tall..
it is not a real miracle that it went wrong.. but I hope she get's better ...

It is a shame..

It is ok to live life to the max.. but even the best machines can be broken..
the heart is just a muscle.. it can be destroyed within 37 years if you stress it too much

That's a tragedy. She was only 37.

And I suppose the baby, too...?

yes that baby was only a month or 2
She had 2 boys. One 3 years and the other 7 months

I think it was too much to play Local team championships in several countries, Eupean cup championships.. and with the national team in Euro championships, world championships and of course the olympics and 10 years (!) also in summer in the WNBA.... a lot of flying.. never ever real rest.. Always training, playing, training, traveling...

and than 3 kids in such short time. A body can only handle 'this' much.

She was amazingly talented
super strong
ultra sweet..

She will be missed by many.

I was fortunate to have met her often... (over 10 times in the years 1999-2007), but sadly the last time , with Kaikura Model Suzy, we had too little time to realy speak... it was a 5 minute meeting, during which i could just give her some candy for "Christmas" and than had to travel back to NL.

It was the last time we met and spoke as I had my things to do and she stopped playing basketball and moved to Australia

Who could have known that only a few years later she would be gone for ever..

Never see the boys grow up
Never enjoy the money you earned
Never see the sun set again

It feels strange.

Recent photo's show an exhausted lady.. it was all too much...

And that is the sadest thing of all... Enjoy life people.. it is over before you know it
